I've been freelancing since January's lay off... I am truly happier than I have been in my professional life... anyone who has not experienced working to live rather than living to work simply must in order to see where their heart truly lies...

^ Well said. Working is highly overrated. Most of us are probably completely into whatever project we're working on, but ask yourself, two years from now, will you even care? Probably not.

You must ask yourself "why start climbing a (corporate) ladder that another man created"... Why not take your time... and either create your own ladder; lighter and more efficient... or something new altogether... for a creative.original bunch of people... it seems many of us rarely take the road lesser travelled... and blaze our own trails...

good points. i've got a freelance gig lined up and another in the works. i really doubt i'll be going back to a full time position. i'm lucky in that my wife has a solid career going and we're now able to just switch over to her insurance plan... which, oddly enough, today was the last day to sign up for.
