Just finished brewing up 5 gallons of Rouges Dead Guy Ale. Any home brewers here? What do you brew?

I am going to try and not drink beer at home until this batch is ready.

mmmmm ....moonshine.

I've seen moonshine made in a crock pot still. This is highly not recommended and very dangerous.

When I moved in I helped my neighbour with his home-distillery (it's legal here for small amounts, or rather the State never checks). One fine morning, we went into his cellar with a big furnace going on and all the copper paraphernalia ready. We say "hats ready" because there are pipes and some "hats" or pots where the thing brews. My job was to test the "aguardente" (uisge beatha) coming out from those pipes. I did my job and was drunk for 2 days. My aguardente days are over since then. It's like doing drugs with a colombian quartel and coming out alive. I won't do it again. You get really really drunk on stuff that comes out with 40-60º alc.

I once made wine as a school project. A mate and I got completely fucking trashed one morning in school as we sampled it.
Good times.

Always goes horribly worng for me

my batch of brew matured last week and I've been drinking pretty much non stop.
I'm on my 3rd beer of the afternoon, working at home with a fridge full of home brew is mighty distracting.

Used to do it in University. Some what successful; but home-brewed wine would usually give me a wicked hang over next day.

"Some of the best beer you'll ever drink will be brewed in your kitchen."
Someone told me that and they are right on. We make a large volume of wine each year, too.
