Ok, so I have ajax filling up a div on my page.
Sometimes however, the content coming in is too big for the content div, and it blasts all over the footer. How should I be structuring the page css so that the injected content pushes the div (and the footer div below it), down to fit ?
Thanks :)

are you using % or fixed dimensions

is it floated? can we see it?

use auto

i assume you have a height set on that div. So, you should remove that.

or use min-height instead

I do have it min-heighted, but it seems to ignore me :/
And I can't really post it as its slightly famous client type stuff.
Honestly I've been doing this for years and now and again something that would seem very basic (fitting words onto a page) throws me. Ah well. I'll try auto, or a %.
Thanks folks.

i think some versions of IE don't like min-height, try:
min-height: 200px;
height: auto !important;
height: 200px;

overflow:auto or hidden

or if your content is floating, add clear:both to footer
