Anyone know if you can add a few seconds of black (blank screen) to a clip in Quicktime Pro, without having to go into another app and rerender?

copy paste save

what would I be copying?

some black footage....
...or actually just a black picture out from ps? that could work too

I suppose I could try that. Was hoping there might be a little trick so it can all be done directly in QT Pro.

well... copy a black part from the movie you are editing.

you could do a screenshot to clipboard of whatever is on your screen and paste it in qt:)

No no, I get that, and I found a second black to do just that. Was just wondering, say if your clip had no black in it, and you were like - oh crap, I need a few seconds of leader, maybe I can create a new file, do this, do that, and copy it back into my orginal.
Just something fancy like that.

that i am doubting, the time code does not care the content of the frame

if you have a webcam you could record with it covered with qt pro, just an idea.
