2 seems to be working best. Does look a little like a quote box.
There's something cool about 8, but not sure it's there yet.

#2 is the only one that works for me, hands down.
The combination of the letters V & D in lots of these is really awkward for me. Too large of a solid area is created for the weight of that typeface. #2 is also the most clean, succinct, and ownable.

#3, the most distinctive mark of the group as well as most original.

#2 for me - I like the type. I feel like the rest of them lack balance / something that makes them unique. Unfortunately the whole dialogue bubble is getting way played out. Maybe there's something you can do with that shape to make it unique / theirs / etc?

Guys, I really appreciate the feedback. Will definitely integrate a few of the suggestions.

2, 3 & 6 are my preference.
I think the type is too dominant in 2 though, the balance between type and mark is a little off but with a bit of tweaking could be a very simple mark. I like how unfussy it is (as opposed to 8 & 9). I also think that a more abstract route is better. Anything that relies on cables etc is going to get out dated pretty quickly. A Cat 5 cable could be the best at the moment but wireless could be the way forward in technology then the mark is based on obsolete technology.I like 3 but I don't really know why (I know that doesn't help) but I like the blue triangle and Im thinking it represents the speech bubble, just not sure how at the moment. Did you try it beneath the 'VDI' to make that an abstracted speech bubble instead of actually illustrating a bubble?
I like 6 but probably the least of the others, simple, references communications but it isn't very unique at the moment. It needs something else.
Also of all the ligatures I prefer that of number 2, I think in 3 & 6 the space is needed between the v and d, even if its just a notch. Actually you could try a more cubic blocky font and use a small notch between the v & d to hint at the whole speech bubble thingy or bring the bottom of the v down to a sharp point and theres the angle of the speech bubble.
For some reason I keep typing 'speach' first then changing it to 'speech'. Im now not even sure which is correct but I can't be arsed checking.

2 and 3 are my pick. work with the balance for 2 though.

try to get away from the idea of V and D sticking together, it doesn't work. speach bubbles and network jacks for a communication company? if they idea is so blatant, the execution has to be top notch.

#8 will stand the test of time?
It barely means something. It looks so random. You can look at it and get no meaning at all out of it.- looks like a computer chip which i would assume is relavent to networksWeLoveNoise
- doesn't look like a chip. looks like a handful of boxes randomly merged together. it lacks the strength to be a logo.VectorMasked
- It looks like a Cat5 cable, which isn't even necessary a good thing if they sell wireless. And not all pick it as a cable anyway.BuddhaHat
- i disagree - looks like a chipWeLoveNoise

infact i like 8 more
5 is good because its prob what client wants, but it is really just a trend, where as 8 will stand the test of time

The blue color, bubble and grey in 1 and 5 instantly made me think of the Real Networks logo. Might want to make sure you don't go too close to that.

I'd like to see the speech bubble off number 1 with the lettering from number 5.
The Cat 5 connector is interesting, but given the ends are transparent, perhaps hollow out the D in #9?

OH SNAP, I never saw the arrow until now.. haha.. I have seen the logo a bajillion times too. It's almost like those sterogram pictures which I still can't see
