I'd like to be able to take a panoramic image on a digital camera in one shot without having to use stitching. A bit like a horizon camera, but digital.
Is there any specialist equipment that is quick to set up and shoot? Lenses or Cameras?
Thanks a lot

I've always stitched as its cheaper for the projects I did but there are other options (pricey i think).

This is the principle behind the two products above:

An horizon camera will shoot a full roll of 35mm in one sweep. There's a digital version as well but costs many deniros. http://www.rugift.com/photocamer…
http://www.panoscan.com for the digital.
- Sweet fuck! $40,000 - $78,000 for the digital? Thats a fair chunk of change.shitehawke
- Well, yeah. I said "many deniros" :P********
- Aye but I didn't think it would translate into that many deniros!shitehawke

185° fisheye, shoot upwards. Unpack /w photoshop, done in 3 clicks.
- major distortion though.lvl_13
- Agreed. You'll have no definition along the edges.********

The easiest way without a specific camera is to get a decent removable-head tripod and buy a panorama head for it. Shoot your pano, and then stitch with software.

I'll tell you what, Im a cheap bastid, I used a tripod with a disc made from balsa wood marked in 20 degree sections (or maybe it was 10 degree), and a piece of balsa wood to act as a pointer on the bottom of the camera. rotate the tripod head to line up the pointer with the degree mark, shoot and repeat.
Its just a cheap and nasty version of what pylon suggested.

this is not a cheap enterprise for one shot panos with decent resolution

I think the hasselblad xpan will take a digital back as well.

Stitching works well, and is cheap. But I need to shoot 90 panoramas in 90 minutes in different locations a stadium. Getting the right equipment for a 1 shot will work better for this job.
