burnout in on monitors

do monitors these days really have much of an issue with burn in? i'm designing a screensaver and the client wants the text to remain static while the graphics move. just not sure if i should recommend other. thx.

a screensaver with static objects? why?
and yes monitors still get burn-in, but its not called that anymore, and it's usually not permanent damage. but still a pain.
my new imac gets it occasionally with my CS4 toolbars.

I don't think LCD displays burn out. CRT do.

well yes, i totally agree. my client was trying to say that it was only the crt monitors that had this problem. just wanted to double check with ya'll...

yeah i've noticed burn in of the menu bar in osx.
you know the bar that remains at the top of the screen...
