i had osx on mine, ran fine

You mean Leopard? I still use my 12"aluPB for travelling. Way lighter than the 17. Runs 10.5 and CS3 fine.
Just jam as much RAM as you can in there.

ok! thx! i thought its old now. can i get ram in local apple store? which ram uses?
- Meeklo0
yeah.. I was running osx in it..
in fact I think it came with the first version of osx (that had classic optional)

I guess it really depends on the processor speed as to how it will run. Powerbook G4's started off at 400mhz! that wouldn't run leopard. I think you need at least 867mhz to run Leopard.

I have Mac OS 10.3 (tiger, I think) on my Powerbook from 2001 (ppc), 256 ram
Well, it runs
- That's Panther. Tiger is 10.4, which I run on my G5.duckofrubber

Leopard (10.5) might be pushing it... try Tiger (10.4) first.

Leopard works just fine on my 1.5Ghz model, its actually a bit faster than Tiger in my experience.
And Crucial for RAM is a good shout. Just max it out and it will work a treat.

Ran os x 10.2-10.4 on my 6/7 year old titanium G4 800 since I got it, still pretty usable today for photoshop and web browsing
