Can someone recommend me good flv to mp4 converter (for PC)? I have already tried 2 and both are rubbish...

You could use Handbrake (version 0.9.3+ is not just for DVDs anymore) http://handbrake.fr/
or if your one a mac you can use Quicktime Pro and Perian plugin for quicktime so you can open FLV in QT

does VLC convert ? anyway that thing it's an outstanding application, the last version is great

sure can, under file Streaming/Exporting Wizard.
I never really liked it. you get more control over your export if you use HB or Quicktime
as a side note HB uses the same libraries (FFMPEG) as VLC
