"... after a few more viewings might edge out Joaquin’s Letterman performance to win the Oscar for Best Actor Acting Awkwardly Promoting Their Music Career."

i can kinda sorta understand where his nose got all out of joint. When you frame a band in the context of "This is <famous actor's name>'s band:, it's hard to think of it as anything else. Not to mention the negative stigma that most actor populated bands get as "not very good". And if he set up something with the prodecer to say "Hey, don't mention the acting thing, we want this to be purely about the music" and the producer didn't communicate it clearly or the interviewer just disregarded it, it's a violation of an informal verbal contract.
Of course, there are better ways he could have handled it (by reinterating that his acting career is incosequential to this music or something like that)Man, did the rest of the band look like they wanted to die or what
- but who's to blame for that? Billy Bob should be mad at himself then; it's his history.Point5

He and Jolie did some weeeird shit together.
- They were already actors, and hence, not normal. Why not push the envelope?locustsloth
- They are all rumours, of course, but it was before she had children...juhls

but he didn't force the issue, just introduced him as an actor. if he weren't would anyone give a shit? context matters in this case, even just to clarify people wondering if he's the actor or not.
on one hand he wants the power and control of a movie heavyweight by dictating what can and can't be discussed but then wants the fact that he is one taken off the agenda.
i'm a fan of his work but what a fuckwit.

His actions tell me that he'd rather his band wallow in obscurity than be noticed merely for that fact that he's an actor. And i'm sure if the producer said "well, we HAVE to mention the acting thing" he woulda said forget it and walked away
- But, again, he hand;ed it like he was a mental patientlocustsloth

I think I can see where he's coming from... he called music his "hobby". He might have phrased it differently and got away with it.
But he still acted like a child with his arms crossed in a huff and came across as a total douche.
- Did he call it a hobby? It wasn't the intro, I thought the interview was quite reasonably set up.welded

I can understand Billy Bob wanting to distance his music from his acting career, but he is a fool to think he can just clap his hands and have that part of his life disappear. The host was right, it's contextual and Billy Bob was a total brat. I feel sorry for his bandmates - they seemed pretty embarrassed, frankly.
- You could just hear them think "Oh god, please let this be over soon"locustsloth

WTF that bit at 5:40 is ridiculous - the question about what he listened to as a kid... Geez...
- That actually reminded me of something i'd read on QBNlocustsloth
- Haha, totally.
Question: thoughts on this kerning? Answer: show us your mum naked!mg33

From the Globe & Mail article:
"Thornton's band members then played a tune without Thornton singing as he normally would. He stood instead by his publicist's side.He left without saying goodbye, which the other Boxmasters did, sheepishly."
Jesus H. Christ! Way to promote that music, Billy Bob.

Billy Bob: "You wouldn't ask Tom Petty that would you"?
Gian: "Well Tom Petty has sold millions of records and would never lower himself to do my morning radio show, so I guess I would have to say no"
- KwesiJ0
staged.

I think there is a 3 or 4 way bet going on between Joaquin, Billy and some other parties.
