Not really templates, these animators had specific rhythms, walks, runs, etc., that they knew would work over a certain number of frames, for certain body types. Look at the IMDB for these films, it's the same lead guys, it's just how they drew.

why reinvent the wheel, you know what I'm saying...

Lazy!
Hand drawing and painting all these (beautifully done, might i mention) frames is a crazy scope of work. Ill take this over that shiny pixar stuff, any day.
- yeah, I agree.. you can't call it lazy... what about cartoons now then?Meeklo
- a little over a minute and a half of duplicate movements from hand drawn, feature length movies is understandable.baseline_shift

you call them lazy, I disagree... look at all the work it took back in the day.. wow!

from the footage i've seen so far, "princess and the frog" doesn't do any of that
it's all hand-animated as well

Irony fail.

Laziness or branding?

isn't that when cartoons where done with step my step frame animation?

So they used the same movements...? they still had to do all the animations over by hand. Seriously, if my work was this well known I'd be crying with joy.
Get working on your own stuff.

so none of you have used stock images more than once?
you don't have a favorite texture that takes your piece to the next level?
not defending the mouse or anything, just sayin'
