I am thinking about doing a long weekend trip to either one of the cities. if you have 3 full days, which city you would go? btw, a flight to london is a bit more.

if you havent been to either of them, and assuming you're in the states, Id go to paris. Itll be more of a culture shock than london (in a good way), and the weather will probably be better.

go to both, only 2 hours apart by train

if you want 24 hour burger king with wifi go to london, if you want foreign vacation paris.
- So so true! That was my experience. But there are redeeming things about London.nocomply

Kezza is right = Have a look on the eurostar webesite - there are often a whole lot of deals going on - I'm going to Paris in June and its only costing about $100 - v quick and right into the center of the city (well, closer than an airport) - you really could do a day trip.

I have been to both many times. I was in London last year and year before. I haven't been back to Paris in 2-3yrs. I have friends in both cities.
You think I can fly in Thurs morning to London, hang out, have dinner with friends, then catch the early morning train to Paris next day and fly back late Sunday? I feel like that's a little much...
- Pretty insane, but doable I suppose. I'd probably be too tired to enjoy a lot of it.nocomply

Land in Paris fly out of London.

I've been to Paris, not to London, and I'd go back to Paris 10/10 times over going to London for a first time. It was just an unreal experience.

I think there's more wow factor in Paris - everywhere is lovely - in london you have to dig a little. That said, London nightlife is far, far superior

My folks actually live there - this is a quick list of good Paris things.

I was just recently in both. I did 4 days in Paris and 2.5 in London.
I would definitely, 100% do Paris. 4 days in Paris didn't seem like quite enough, but I was done with London after 2 full days (no offense to the Londoners because it's still an amazing city.) But to be fair, London was the final leg of my trip and I was probably a bit tired and ready to go home at that point.

Me? Paris.
But then, I live in London.

Also, while it is possible to do both, you lose the better part of a day in travel time. If you're only doing 3 days I would stick to 1 location.

Hmmm. Now I am not so sure if it's worth it. 8hrs flight x 2, and 3 days in there. Maybe I am getting old. I might have to thinking about a little longer vacation when I am not so crazy busy.

Living in London I'd say Paris. feel more like somewhere different.
London/New York are fairly similar. Gordy had it right:
"I think there's more wow factor in Paris - everywhere is lovely - in london you have to dig a little. That said, London nightlife is far, far superior"If I could choose my perfect day, it would be breakfast and the morning in Paris, with a brasserie lunch, afternoon coffee in London, early evening pints and dinner in London then the night time in London for sure. Paris is shit at night.

PARIS

Sunday morning in London is great - especially round Brick Lane. Lots of markets, bars, historic streets.
Not gonna work for you but its good to know.

I hear that.
My perfect day in Paris would be...
Lazy breakfast and cappuccino to start off. Nice long stroll through the city, maybe kick back in Parc des Buttes Chaumont. Lunch at french moroccan restaurant. Check out either Musee d'Orsay or Palais de Tokyo(I haven't been to this one yet). Late afternoon cafe stop and a few glasses of wine and off to 2-3hours dinner with friends.
