I'll be there for a week with my gorgeous! So anything, a live show, whole in the wall dive restaurant, you know... places to be?

will you have a car out there? I say hop on the ferry to Vancouver island and drive around. :) There are some amazing lakes, and if you can handle a days drive, tofino would be a lovely trip that time of year. I live in Comox (on the Island) and last summer was the best summer ive had since i was a kid. Floating on lakes, swimming in the ocean.
You can get good restaurants and shit like that anywhere - take advantage of the natural geography of the area. :D

Jericho beach is really nice, try to be there for low tide.

Thanks, that sounds tight. Although, I live very near several various bodies of water... lakes, rivers, oceans. I'm looking for some unique places that are 100% local intake. A band you can only see at a certain local pub, or a centralized area that only the locals know about. C'mon it's Vancouver.

Word, i hear you. I don't know Vancouver *too* well, but I'll be rolling through there on tour in June. I do a good show. :) Ill keep you posted. :D

It might not be your cup of tea... but Chemainis (sp?) on Vancouver Island has painted murals all over the place. Haven't been there in 15 years, but it was pretty cool.

The Biltmore Hotel usually has good shows, most nights. Go shopping on Main street, and stop in at the Regional Assembly of Text http://www.assemblyoftext.com/ For food - Chambar is really good (if you can get in - always packed)also the little Medina Cafe next door to Chambar is good, Bin 941 or Bin 942 etc..etc.. The Irish Heather is kinda cute..good fries.

Oh, and go to Main and Broadway. Get a Coffee from Cuppa Joe, really good, it's not as classy as gene (across the street), but good. Head up the street to Slickity Jims or around the corner to Nice Cafe (on 8th st) .
If you want some unusual suppers, go to The Foundation (7th and Main), Budgies Burrito's (Kingsway and 8th), or down the street on 6th, try The Whip.
Screw all that kitsilano and downtown crap.
boooring!!Also, catch a Fake Jazz (either wednesday or friday) at the Cobalt (don't be afraid.. it's not as bad as it looks).
