Well, it's different. I am so tempted to use the word 'suck' for this identity, but that doesn't quite work. It is ambitious, but the logo is both boring and ugly. It will take a lot (and I mean a LOT) of exposure to start to reap any rewards and will not attract anyone who isn't a horse lover.

Any comments?

Wasn't this dude on here the other week trying to draw a horse?
- I must have missed that? I have no clue what you are talking about...Amicus

I thought so at first, but it's dated March 18 and appears on www.visitlex.com
actually the logo used on that site uses even worse type than the original logo
- scarabin_net0
that horse has skinny little bitch legs
- typist0
so it's all make sense, the whole concept is solely ride on a single painting...
but i agree with you, bad logoThe portrait shown is an adaptation of the actual oil painting
of the famous racehorse "Lexington" by the renowned equine artist Edward Troye.- Oh, and Troye spent most of his time painting horses in Georgetown... not LexingtonAmicus

I LOVE HORS

Pentagram just jumped the shark
- Amicus0
it makes sense... but it's still shite.
Does this make me want to visit Lexington? Will it help me remember Lexington? Do I want to do business there?
A city logo should at least attempt to have a yes to one of these questions shouldn't it?
This logo does nothing to persuade me to say yes to any of these questions.
As the self proclaimed Horse Capital of the World, you would at least think they might use an image that shows the true majesty, strength and speed of the Horse. Not one that stands their gently doing absolutely nothing.

it's doing something, it's miraculously balancing on skinny little bitch legs

Blue Grass = Kentucky

recycling milton glasers I<3NY is pretty low for pentagram
the horse thing.. is pretty "meh"
they need to start cutting off the weaklinks
leave Hyland, Scher, Bierut and a couple of others and sack the rest.
Lippa Pearce were a waste :(

You'd think that the top partners would pass their eyes across this type of thing and tell them to keep sketching...

Ok. I usually end up defending Pentagram's work around here...
This I can't defend.
