Swing around the San Juan Skyway in SW Colorado (Ouray, Telluride, Ridgway, Silverton, Durango)
Glacier National Park
Grand Tetons NP
Bear Butte (NE of Stugis/Black Hills)
Athens, GA and Memphis, TN are cool, and on the way.... avoid Texas at all costs, except San Antonio and Austin.... Try the little roads, not the interstates whenever you can..
asheville you say? lemme know, we'll meet up for a pint.
Too bad, utopian, I've wanted to hit up PA.
Just returned from Pittsburgh for the weekend. Great people, terrible food, downtown was a total ghost town, a depressing a city with so much potential...
I really have enjoyed
the Badlands/Rushmore (South Dakota)
Grand Canyon/Zion Canyon/Bryce Canyon
Olympic Pennisula (Seattle area) Ruby Beach!!
i did the northern route from ny to san fran and the southern from ny to LA my favorite spots in order were:
Seattle/Portland with a stop on the Oregon coast
Badlands/Mt Rushmore S.D.
LA and the coastal towns
Santa Fe, NM
Have fun, take pics and share!
Time is on my side, I have a month to get from Tampa to Asheville, NC. Rather than relax during that downtime I'd see some of the country.

Going from Tampa, FL to Seattle, WA in May. Probably spend about a month wandering around the states. Suggestions?
