WIndows 7 is good...but all I want from an OS is for it to get out of my way and let me do my work without having to worry about things happening that I didn't ask for. So far, Windows 7 does exactly that for me so, so far so good.
For all you fanbois...fuck off and get a life! :)

Windows 7 is just Vista with a new hat, if Vista hadn't been a massive flop then W7 would have just been a service pack, calling it Windows 7 is just a branding exercise so you don't think its just Vista with a few fixes and UI Tweaks
- actually no,
thank youGeorgesII - Enjoy that chubby Ballmer cock********

I wonder what the mac zealot look into, when a new OS comes out?
win7 is a good platform, its stable, fast and the new UI is more intuitive than vista.
I'm very happy vista was a flop or we would have had to wait another year or two to see any significant update.
I work under OSX at work, I've been running xp without any significant problem for the past 4 years and win2000 before that,
I have ubuntu installed in my oldest laptop and use it as a bathroom/webstation. seriously the OS shininess is the last thing I look at as long as its stable and allows me to work.

I'm still on the first build and it's good enough for me. It help that Vista had alot of little quirks that rubbed me the wrong way. Mostly filing documents.

using the rc. its pretty good, very fast on my netbook but needs more ram than 1gb! the new control panels n stuff take a while to get around and media player is vastly improved.

using the rc too on a spare laptop, was a painless experience to install, fast in use. the shite from Vista is gone and all programs working ok so far.Any that had problems quickly solved with the latest Vista drivers (was an XP). Not worked it hard yet so we'll see, but impressed so far in that it can be stripped back and gets out of the way - I've little interest in animated windows on my desktop or gradient desert images and the like though..

windows 7 suck a bitch

Vista is fucking great so far (yes, I use it, and am therefore qualified to speak about it), but Windows 7 looks like it's going to blow it away. The nuances of the new interface and inter-window navigation fits my personal preferences exactly.

Windows 7 = OSX Killer
Just read several articles and performance-wise it blows even XP away. It will run smooth even on older systems. I think Microsoft has really done it with this OS. They listened to all the negative feedback on Vista and incorporated it into Windows 7. I'm installing it tonight. It's said a the latest build that has leaked is the actual retail copy...and it's better performance-wise than all previous releases which were already said to be excellent.

Linux is the future.... Ubuntu 9.04 is v good stuff.

I thought Windows 7 wasn't out until October? 90% of our users come from XP land.

I just installed windows 7 - it doesn't seem like an osx killer to me.

I have been using it (the 64bits version) for more than a week and I really it so far. It runs smoothly and they improved the UI a lot. Using CS4 and it runs like a charm too.
I hate to say that but Micro$oft did a good job.
