St. Patrick was English. He didn't even want to go to Ireland, but was forced. Some backwards shit if you ask me.
And drinking a green Miller Lite today doesn't mean you are "Irish for the day" Living in Philadelphia makes me hate this "holiday" even more.
- Fucking english...TheBlueOne

@ Calcium - do you know that the patron saint of England was a Roman soldier from Palestine and is also the Patron saint of loads of other countries? Where they are born doesn't mean anything.
Lots of people simply don't understand the strong ties and bonds between Ireland and America. You only have to think back to the reasons why so many people left Ireland for America (e.g. famine, english oppression, poverty) to start to build a picture of the social bond between the two countries.

fucking stupid day where americans pretend to have cultural heritage (beyond the slave trade) and where cunts put on stupid hats and act like the cunts they are
- ********0
There's just as many ties and bonds between the US and England.
It's embarrassing to watch this play out every year. If you're not Irish, or haven't even ever lived there, I see no purpose or excuse to claiming any kind of kinship to the place.
It's nonsense!
- lowimpakt0
it's "nonsense" because you don't understand it.
there's no shame in admitting you don't understand something.
- ********0
I understand it fully, and there's no sense to it.
If you're not Irish, you're not Irish. It's that simple.
- lowimpakt0
what is your defining framework for what would make you irish?
- ********0
Being born in Ireland, and having lived there for a reasonable amount of time.
- lowimpakt0
I'm afraid it's a little more complicated than that.
anyway... work.

But it's not! It's really not.................
