one of my latest wackjob clients owes my web developer $7K for her website (+ 1.5 years maintenance, a custom shopping cart etc.). she left me a message stating that if the developer doesn't want to arrange a payment plan (which was set up, but he was never paid), then she will call my other clients and tell them 'what an irresponsible designer' i am.
one of my best friends is a corporate attorney. he made a phone call. wackjob client quickly apologized. then i fired her as a client.
- why does she know how to contact your clientsESPtype

That is fucking ridiculous.
You handled it very well.

No f-in way! Ha. You did the right thing. If it were me, I would have fired that client. Sometimes it's best to walk, it's not benefiting you or them.

Yes and it was face to face... I ended up getting in the guys face. Then I told him to go find someone else to do his work. He came back all apologetic and asked that I continue to work on their account.

"Dont you fucking hang up on me, I own you."
What is it with marketing people and the gangster act they go into when backed into a corner?
- Kiggen0
Wow, never had that happen. There are basic rules of etiquette...crazy...

Do they have any outstanding bills to settle? I'd make sure you get that secured before burning any bridges.
have you considered asking him to print out the existing layout with the exisiting text on it and then marking pencil boxes to show the size and position of each image?
After he has sent that back to you, adjust the grid and send him back the results with the 1.5pt typesize, asking him to sign it off.

No outstanding balance thank god. Will let him calm down and do that Orbit.

If he owns you, now my be an appropriate time to make an offer, he's probably in a selling mood.

Man sorry to hear that. I used to have to work with lawyers alot and some of them were total pricks. Never had anything escalate to such an absurd level though. Since you kept your cool, chances are he is going to feel like a jerk off after he calms down.
Good luck.
