Flip4mac
http://www.telestream.net/telest…It takes a while for Quicktime to open very large .wmv files, but that's how it is.

I like using both Quicktime and VLC for any video. There are certain things I like and dislike about each program.

A word of Advice on Perian version 1.1.3 for ichat users...Perian will stop any video working in ichat... i found out the hard way and it took ages googling "they can see me and i can't see them" until i found the problem...
don't get me wrong perian 1.1.2 is great but ichat users steer clear of 1.1.3

Perian and Flip4Mac allow you to open and save from QuickTimePro. VLC only plays.

VLC is THE shit for all video file and DVD's.
END OF THE STORY.
- I hate how you can't have full-screen while maintaining a small video resolution/size. Nitpicking, but it bothers me.juhls
- People never understand what I mean, so I will clarify: I want a black box in the background of my video. You can do this in Quicktimejuhls
- Quicktime by entering full-screen mode. The video, if it was around 300 MB, will still be a smaller screen in the middle.juhls
- double-click in the video. youll enter full screen.benfal99
- That's not what I mean. I want the black part to expand around the video, but the size of the video itself remains unchanged.juhls
- someone's high maintenance.iCanHazQBN
- that is coming in VLC v1.0, they are on 0.9.8 right now.acescence

One more question?
So, I need Quick Time "Pro" in order to save?Yeah I'm an idiot in this area :/
- harlequino0
Save what exactly? Save as another file, or save from the web to your harddrive?
For the former, yes QT Pro is needed, or a conversion app like VisualHub or something. For the latter, you simply need chutzpah.
