What do you think, is it ever OK to leave a job off your resume if it's something you don't want to highlight?

How big of a gap would it leave time-wise between employers?

it's your cv, just don't lie about where you've been by adding something not true

Should I leave prison time off my résumé?

I worked at this awful factory of an agency in Baltimore for 6 weeks. Never put it on my resume. The place was an embarrassment.

Use freelance as an excuse?
- On another note, it might show that you have a broader range, and you arent afraid to try.attentionspan

You can hide everything you want, if you think it's not important enough to be in your cv, it's your business. But adding something that never happened is bad, bad I tell you and you will burn in hell if you even think of that!

everyone who knows anything about employing people would ask about a gap. its like the first thing you ask about if you see it in someones resume.

^same thing I was typing :)
If you leave it off and there is a large gap in employment, any employer will for sure ask you what you did during that time. If you can't honestly say freelance or something to cover it up, leave it on.

I'm not talking about adding something that never happened. That would be stupid and illegal.

Let me put some context around it. I have been freelancing for the past couple years.
In the past four months, I have taken a job that, while well-paying, didn't turn out to be the kind of work I really wanted to do. In addition, the people running the company were fined by the state for their questionable business tactics, which will show up when you search for the name.
Do you think it's OK to leave it out or should I keep it in the interest of being fully accurate?

Leaving it off is your business, if they question you about, just be honest. Tell them what you didn't like about the place.

If you have been freelancing for that long....leave it off. Just include that 4 months in your freelancing.
It wont look any different to a potential employer, and they wont know any better.

You should definitely leave a jobbie off your resume.
