Whilst we're here - what're your recommendations for the 'best' modeller? This is for CAD/CAM (with a design angle) - I'm currently bumbling through with a combo of Sketchup, Illustrator and Max - I had hoped to get into Rhino, but my hookie copy's dysfunctional :(
What'd you guys say? Rhino? AutoCad? C4D? MAX?

AutoCad, IronWorks, SolidWorks is the direction I need to go in for the prototyping company I'm partnering with, Once all is written up I will be getting a copy of IronWorks and AutoCad for said union
- Thanks, v3 - are these the two xworks products you're referring to? http://www.solidsolu…

I used to do fair amount of 3d(product, architecture, interior) and probably the most easiest one I used was Rhino. I have used Form-z, AutoCad, Max and most recently C4D.
I haven't done much 3D in the past 6-8 yrs and it's so hard to get back in. I just can't do it like I used to. Like someone pointed out, you have to use it everyday to be really efficient. I know the fundamental so after a week or two, I get used to it and do fairly well. But yeah, if you are going to do it, you have to make a big commitment.

What I am saying is Adobe should develop a product for basic 3D.
A lot of people these days (and probably more in the future) want to create 3D for Flash, or for print or web graphics, but don't need to recreate Lord of the Rings.

- That's why I recommend Strata 3D. I don't know anything about 3D and I found pretty easy to use compared to Maya and Cinema4D. It is also very tightly integrated with Illustrator and Photoshop.********
