NO buttons to skip songs on the unit? WTF? You are making me use you headphones so I can advance. No thanks, I'll keep my old one. Your headphones are horrible.

I think Apple took the "less is more" philosophy a bit too far.
- lvl_130
granted, a ton of companies will come out with headphones that incorporate the new "feature", having to use apple's shitty ear buds to begin with is a no-no.
lame.

How many weeks do you think it will take for every headphone manufacturer to reproduce this functionality on their own headphones. And really, lets ask ourselves, is the shuffle really for audiophiles and music lovers, or the casual listener who wants an inexpensive music playback device that the listen to during their long walks on the beach.

- I only use mine for the gym********

Wonder how much those ear buds will retail for when the first ones break...

It's like the DVD players (and other electronics with remotes) that only have a few buttons on the actual base....you loose the remote and you're screwed.
sweet.

I think it will be a couple of weeks probably. It's def not for audiophiles, but a handy device none the less.

MiniDisc was the absolute most awesome thing at the time for skiing. Then iPod came along and made them useless.

"Introducing VoiceOver,2 the feature that gives iPod shuffle a voice. With the press of a button, it tells you what song is playing and who’s performing it. It can even tell you the names of your playlists, giving you a new way to navigate your music."
voice control.
- reading the song name out loud is not voice control, idiotmonospaced

so I guess that answers our question. One. One day it will take before someone reproduces the functionality. So there you go.

every walkman/minidisc/discman I bought more than 10 years ago came with a remote on the headphone,
nothing original there,
even worst sony came out with a walkman that had wireless headphones at least 10 years ago too, but only for the japanese market though,
you guys are lightyears behind what is coming out in asia- the difference is that this ONLY has controls on the headphones, and none on the main unitmonospaced

who cares. i use the ipod touch 2nd gen and i just play shuffle my top rated songs playlist. i never skip tracks or anything. be a bit selective of what you put on there and its not a big deal. like doing a good tag on last.fm or whatever.
