Has anyone attended or currently attending Full Sail? I'm looking into applying and I would like some feedback from current or past students.

I would suggest doing a free internship at a really competitive agency/studio before dropping that chunk of change at full sail.
I have looked at their brochures and considered it myself in the past. hands on trial and error in a work atmosphere is FOR ME the best way to learn. I was always able to find internships that didn't pay but offered a huge knowledge transfer. The great part is that you are making biz contacts and relationships while you learn.
I would intern by day and tend bar or wait tables at night. Thats how I got to where I am today.
Nowhere.

I had acquaintances that went there, and it seemed like the most unprofessional place. Plus the classes are 24 hours a day, so you could be going to class at 11pm (caveat: I'm not sure if this is normal for the whole school)

I have 11 years of design experience. I currently hold a senior designer position. I'm just trying to finish school for personal reasons. I was going for the "Internet marketing" program. I can't find any other (local) university that offer this type of program.

I considered going there and opted instead to go to a real school.

I went there after going to a real university. My best advice if you're going there is to make the most of it. There will be the usual potheads, lazy, and no-talent people, but if you put your work & time in, you'll get a lot. The teachers aren't exactly great educators, but I could see them being comparable to an art director, so they establish that kind of relationship with you.
The classes run in 4 hour blocks, and u can be in class at 11pm sometimes. I found that it helped me adjust to working, as I can get through 8 hours a day a lot better than going to class for an hour.
Like all things, if you make the most of it you'll get a lot more. Any other questions feel free to ask me. I graduated there in 03 and now working my dream job.
- i had audio labs at 1 in the morning sometimes, which went to 5am, and then class @ 9am. A "real world" educationlocustsloth

HAHA i am actually a Full Sail graduate (Associate's of Science in Sound Recording Technology). i can only really speak for the audio program but that school is really what you make of it. You can go in there and really squeeze the sponge of experience that is available there and get a lot of knowledge out of it. Or, as a good portion of my classmates did, coast thru, complaining about "unfair" test questions and learning the bare minimum to pass. They'll take your money either way.
Life circumstances caused me to shift over to video a short time after i graduated, but a few of my more dilligent classmates got great opportunities including:
- My lab partner does ADR work for big movies like Borat, Little Miss Sunshine, Shooter and Sex Drive
- Another friend works as a sound recordist for Alton Brown's "Good Eats" and "Feasting on..." shows
- The valedictorian of my class went to work with John Storyk who designed Electric Lady Land studiosAnd then there's me :(

I went there and graduated about 2 years ago. I completely agree with spork, if you go make the most of it, attend any extras that they put on, don't do the minimum requirements for anything. Classes do run 24 hours a day and it seems like a horrible thing but if your going their to get an education and learn it's fine.

why does the logo have a dc 3 instead of a ship? but why an airplane. seems odd.

i worked as a telemarketer there too, calling people who had expressed an interest in the school. Once they had me call graduates to check up on them. Not very many were still in the field that they went to school for
- sounds like a depressing job hope it didn't last long.nilsnihil
- Yeah, i eventually got enough pull to get moved to the mailroom, which was easy goinglocustsloth

Has anyone done or completed the online program? The adviser told me I need 25hours per week and all my work is due by Sunday at midnight.
