probably not .. it hard already to get proper html working through all clients .. I've never seen flash in a newsletter, but gifs are possible .. like jpg's, but compatibility issues are the hardest ..

Flash in a html newsletter is a no no. Very limited support for flash in mail clients as they are very basic html renderers. The only one Ive come across that supports it with no hassle is mac mail, so if you guarantee that all your intended recipients are using it go for it. Otherwise you'll get security issues and active -x errors in outlook/entourage etc.
I did a flash emailer for a company a few years back and the IT dept had to go into everyones mail and set permissions to enable the flash to be read. I didn't see the point as there was over 1,500 people going to be getting the email.

unfortunatley not dude,
you can for some but its really not advisable to reach the widest audience.
HTML emails (in my opinion) are calls to action to get people into your site. So link appropriately with big links, unfortunatley you would be lucky to get someone to see something as simple as an animated gif in the next ten years because Microsoft killed support for it in outlook 2007.

You can incorporate Flash into PDF Docs now though. Not sure if that helps you, I've been dying to try it myself.
- the funny thing is, a lot of creatives not in interactive have been asking me for flash pdfs for years! :Slvl_13
- Yeah I had no clue until I went to a Flex conference and a guy from Adobe showed off new PDF features. Pretty cool shit.tommyo
- I'm thinking the graphing capabilities of this alone are amazing. drop in an swf, link it to an xml file, done done done.tommyo

How about plain text? :p
(I've had to do 10 HTML newsletters in the last 2 weeks so I'm only half-kidding.)

Yeah, you're lucky even if your basic CSS works, after Microsoft's Outlook debacle.
