what do you think to animate the little guy instead to be moving still...

think I'll keep him still when there is mouse movement and animate when there are other events, like going from one project to another. what do u think?
can't take him out totally, because I need the little guy there as a "spectator" to the changing pics. kind of like an immersive experience seen through the eyes of this spectator.

Critiques served warm....
#1 your site loader is kinda lame for the amount of time it took on my fios account. It's playful but the mark didn't connect me to your brand which I didn't see anywhere after loading nor did I remember it. -1
#2 The site itself is well developed that's not the problem but your projects look like images from a flickr and theirs no definition of what your looking at before you click, it's difficult to navigate due to this and the whole time I was looking at your motion graphic work I wished you just had a motion video of the graphics you did.
#3 The photo choices are quite lovely but because there are so many on the page and because the developed site has such a springy bottom piece it's difficult to focus without getting distracted. I think due to this I'd minimalize what you have on your space when your viewing without removing your navigation system. As is its too much for the eye without getting annoyed. It's like looking at a house with red siding with blue shutters and white lining. Too much is fighting.
Well overall I like the depth of your content and thought the work you did individually was much better than the site content, it does lack branding and I'd work on fixing your pallette the light green wasn't for me.

Thanks jo for the very thorough and thoughtful review.
re:Brand. Wanted to communicate the idea of "Experiential" throughout the site, and is metaphorized through the little man. We also wanted to focus on showcasing our portfolio. So from pre-loader to navigating, it is as if the little man is navigating through a gallery.
I will think harder now how to make this connection clear so the entire interface makes better sense.
Also, will tag all the images (because I was too lazy to tag each and every image, so there is no explanation and looks like flickr) we have been thinking of posting the videos of all the mo-graph... but just too many conversions (and we are dumb lazy) but yes, u r absolutely spot on, it is shouting for video.
re: too busy because of the springing bottom.. we made it spring as an afterthought to segment one project from another, also to tell people that there is a write-up and thumbnail. I guess the alternative would be to put everything flat out alongside the photos.
re: Not light green.. do u like pink-cyan-purple??
thanks again.

at a glance it looks simple but it turns out there's a lot going on. should have left it simple.
