I think the letters need some space - they need to be able to breath

- you can go tight or loose, but it has to be even. this is better than your first shot. o & d too close imobaseline_shift
- He can go as tight as to let a couple of letters touch. Give him a little break guys.monospaced
- truth. just trying to be constructive.baseline_shift

are you creating a new qbn?
- that was my thought...and possibly the source of anger in this threadmonospaced
- lol no, it's for my blog on cpluv iv had for over 3 years now just for fun********

and it looks like you kerned everything tight? the word spaces are huge.
use tracking to adjust the line of text, kern should only be used to tweak individual letters.

- as my design profs woulda said, you could drive a truck through thereinkpink

I actually don't mind the TodayNow wordmark. While it is arguably weak and you're married to it, I'll move on to your original question. The tagline, as terrible as it may be, is a typographic nightmare. The light weight does not lend itself to tracking/kerning that tight.
Wordmark aside, the tagline should be clean readable type. Track it all out clean and even.
- i agree i am thinking of going regular or demi********
- It's not about the weight, it's the fact that you've rendered it illegible with the touching characters.monospaced

1. Put your text in MS word
2. Take a screen shot
3. Crop
4. Add to your layout.

just curious what people would make for the logo part since you say it doesn't make sense? a detailed calendar and clock wouldn't work small scales
- people are trying to help, don't be so defensive.Jnr_Madison
- i know i appreciate :)
just wanted to know what others would do for the logo i agree 2nd aint great but 2 and 3 are good********

Type such as a tagline beneath a logo, which will be reproduced at small size on most occasions, benefits from open tracking, rather than tight. Tracking actually affects legibility more than point size, to a certain degree at any rate. I think you'll find that scaling that logo down to a typical size range with render your tagline utterly illegible.
If you love the type, keep it, although in my opinion Avant Garde is a weak choice of geometric font. Even Futura is better than Avant Garde, and I have never liked Futura's forced geometry.
Again, your concept is weak and ambiguous and you aren't open to input, so I don't know why I took the time to offer type advice.
- get me those crops instead of explaining these things to strangers. Hurry up, i want to go to the pub.********
- im open to input im also allowed to reply I like AG cause of its Circle/Rectangle/Tri... Geometry works well with the logo, and the logo means what it means.********
- go ahead to the pub. You'll have them when you come home. Unless you didn't want to work afterwards, in which case gimme an hour.Scotch_Roman

i have a weird issue with fat heavy characters tracked tight to a little kiss-touch.
either make them overlap and grope each other, or give them personal some space.
- i like the idea of kinda overlaping********
