The thread from my tripod snapped off and is stuck in my camera. Now what do I do?

I would want to see a pic of this whole thing but it seems too much trouble to ask.

It sounds like your condom broke situation.

I don't know what you should do.

Can you take a picture of it off your computer and post it?

use pliers - or super glue something to the thread so you can twist it back out.

Im gonna take a trip to home depot to see what they can suggest... I wanna stay away from having to send it to canon. Im sure it could get pricy.

Yeah, I've had this happen before with other small electronics and with bikes... if u can use a dremel like the one above make a flathead screwdriver shape in what's remaining and unscrew it. That was you save the threading inside the camera. You're gonna need a tiny bit though I think.

You get reverse screws where the thread is counter cut so it unscrews the object it is driving into.

what is thread made of

Don't use superglue, the chances of it blobbing over the edge and gluing the snapped off bit in there permanently is too great.
Use an electric drill with a very small bit in it for drilling metal. Drill three shallow holes next to each other to make a crude slot, then stick a screwdriver in to unscrew the piece.

Assuming the thread is Plastic, just use a screwdriver, either wih bluetack or a non contact glue globbed on the end, or heat the tip with a lighter, and stick it deep, set then unscrew.

If the flat bit is uneven you could get a small flatheaded screwdriver and work it out. Otherwise you can get screw/bolt extractors for your local hardware store or left handed drill bits.

Take it to a local metalworks and give the guy a fiver.
