they are some nice tuts

Anyone got any 'get started' links for learning papervision etc. for simpletons...
- Just play with the examples that come with the package.. you should pick it up really easily, its fun, do it :)mikotondria3

I wonder if Adobe's 3D in Flash 10 will eat Papervision alive
- Doubt it. I've heard it really depends on purpose. Small things handled better in Flash, while full sites should be PV.harlequino
- I'm wondering in the long run if Adobe will upgrade itself into something more powerful than papervision, shrugKolor
- We will have to look...to the FUTURE!harlequino
- My guess would be no based on their track record. Look at what they did with their tween engine.jpea
- "They" meant Adobe.jpea
- That's a good pointKolor
- papervision can be written to take advantage of the new fp 3d features to make it just as fastacescence

There some decent 'get started' tuts out there, but the bookmarks are on another machine. I have only an overview training on AS3, but I found that I sorta got it, when trying to manipulate it. If you understand custom classes, then you can probably get started fairly easily.

Another tut that shows a disintergrating logo

mcasperson - im all for papervision and 3d engines but why take the hit of the PVSD lib when the example above is a simple 2d effect?
- mcasperson0
Your right - you could do the effect above in 2D. But with 2 extra lines of code you could have the camera orbit around the image as it disintergrates, or each of the individual planes could be simulated with a physics engine to show them falling to the ground like broken glass etc.
The actual effect is not really the point, it is a sample of what could be done with PV3D that I expect others will use as a base for more interesting 3D effects.
