Ok so here it is I'm currently commuting 3 hours a day to and from my work (1.5 each way). Its really killing me. Ive lost weight, my relationship with my gf, friends and flat mates are under stress too.
So I have started looking for another job. I have only been in this company for 6 months and they are a really good agency, I love it there.
So
I have one company with great benefits and a good salary to boot that are really interested in me. However, I am not sure about starting there. The work looks like it could be seriously corporate and that I would be working in house. Potentially locking myself in and selling my soul to work for the man.I was thinking that I could take the job and keep looking as a stop gap for a maximum of 6 months however I dont want to just jump on the first ship that sails by as it would look bad that I have moved 2x in a year.
On the plus side I need to refine my design style a good bit and could use the experience designing corporate.
Im currently front end but want to get back into design. This is all happening in London so if anyone knows of a good position let me know!!
What do you think.
Cheers

Get a new girlfriend?
- inkpink0
damn 3hrs sucks... seems like everyone i hear from in the UK has to travel long distances like this for their careers. not worth it in my opinion.
- JayCee0
Okay you really need to take a look at the corporate issue. within this company is there room for you to grow or influence them in anyway with your work? or are you going to be a slave to marketing and some marketing degree having art director who thinks he's above design type cunt? weigh your options my friend. Ask questions.

sleep/work/surf on the train. leaving more time to shag the misses?
- inkpink0
seems obvious but perhaps ask if you can work some days from home.
lunchbreak nookie with GF are a bonus.
- Sherbit0
hehe, i used to work from home it was great. I took this job as it was time to move on in my carrer.
I think that I need to go in and talk to them again.
I'll bump this in the morning and see if sleeping on it helps.Cheers folks!

never place a relationship ahead of your career. especially if you're under 27.
