Does anyone know of a good script that allows you to expand a row or an image on hover (to reveal text), but when you click on it it goes to a new page?
This is probably very easy to do but my brain is overwhelmed at the moment with requests...

I guess I could make the text an image, and then just have that image show up on hover...but I would prefer having actual text there.

it sounds like you have content that you'd like to Mask until a user rolls over the content. Then the mask would grow, revealing the content underneath.
Does that sound about right?

not totally sure what this is about but "I could make the text an image, and then just have that image show up" reminds of david fincher. you might read the fightclub script...

yes, anxious_arms, that sounds good.
I want to use it for images, and I need the image to expand a bit with text underneath.
I also have a menu, but those are easier:

For example, with this:
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dyna…How do you make it expand on "hover" rather than on "click". Do you just change that property?

This would work, but vertically instead of horizontally:

it's already written in that code juhls.
- revealtype: "click", //Reveal content when user clicks or onmouseover the header? Valid value: "click" or "mouseover
- mouseoverdelay: 200, //if revealtype="mouseover", set delay in milliseconds before header expands onMouseover

import gs.TweenMax;
yourImage.onRollOver = exposeImage;function exposeImage()
{
TweenMax.to(yourImage, 1, {_xscale:110, _yscale:110});
TweenMax.to(yourText, 1, {_alpha:100});
}this is a very simple function that uses TweenMax to tween your mcs. upon rolling over an image the function will scale your image up by 10% and fade in your text. obviously this function needs tweaking, but i can't do it ALL for you can i? :) hope this helps get you started.
- oh, i didn't realize you were doing this for a dropdown menu.anxious_arms
- not for flash, but greatly appreciated :)juhls
- this is also Flash as2. dunno what you're working in.anxious_arms
- shit, i'm WAY off today. sorry.anxious_arms

I like Bickham Pro and Sloop. Bello is nice for that brushy look.
Oh you're looking for coding help. That makes me as useful as a leaky bucket. Carry on.

This is all very helpful.
I want to use Javascript / html to expand an image since I'm not too experienced with Actionscript yet.

I found another nice one here for menus:
http://berndmatzner.de/jquery/ho…One of the problems with this is using a script that is compatible with other scripts on the page.
- shouldn't cause issues with other jQuery scripts.dropdown
- *incompatible.
Anyway, this one looks good. I can use images maybe.juhls - Yeah, I'll have to make sure I keep with jQuery, which is probably best anyway. But most ppl use IE 6.0 here, sojuhls
- I will have to make sure it works.juhls
- That's the great thing about all these libraries. They make things more consistent. good luck!dropdown
- Thanks.juhls

Ok, I'm using this.
http://codepad.org/3mgFYDOkIs there any way to make the speed of the expansion higher? Right now "fast" is not that fast.
Main question:
Right now, when you hover over a header, a little sub-menu pops out from underneath. What do I have to change/put in the code for the reverse to occur when someone moves their mouse away from the header? (mouseout).

Here's the other one I tried out.
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dyna…How the heck do you get it to go back to its original state on mouseleave?
Right now most of these scripts only expand on mouseover or click, but it doesn't work in the reverse for mouseover (meaning that the menu doesn't collapse again once you leave it).
