In the martial arts there is a concept of 'No Mind'
To me it boils down to knowing what you are doing so well that it just happens. Thinking nothing and everything at the same time.

mikotodondria has a point.
"nothing" is a way too abstract concept as it could be expressed in a symbol. this thread is full of emptiness, but that´s a totally different thing from nothing if you think it through. nothing doesn´t exist in reality/nature, it exists only in mathematics I think. therefore there can´t be any fitting symbols that represent it, except for the mathematical ones.
- there are plenty of things that evoke the idea of 'nothing'._salisae_
- I really don´t think that we come across the real nothing in everyday life very often.********
- It´s more something for philosophers or theoretical mathematicians, no?********
- sure but we're talking about symbolism not philosophy_salisae_
- I hear you, but the symbols, the everyday symbols stand for something else, really?********
- Loss, emptyness, purity, stuff like that?********
- yes. this is true._salisae_

I think the arabs originally invented nothing ("0"). It´s an amazing accomplishment really. Total abstraction. Beautiful.

God invented nothing when She decided upon Something.

there were some anthropologists who tried to explain numbering to the yanomamo tribe and the idea that something could be labeled 'one' or 'two' but then another thing could also be labeled 'one' or 'two' blew their minds and they couldn't conceive of it.
- this probably isn't even relevant but i think of it often_salisae_

i can imagine a tv listing with pure crap shown in every time slot. or an empty job listing. it's sad how many examples of nothing there are. damn yin and yang. damn ebbs and flows.
