I think it needs the homepage to have an explanatory hero or something, because as total dumbass, I haven't really got a clut what it's all about and I'm not terribly inspired to.
So basically, create an immediate explanation of your 'learn more' page in plain english. ie; more of your step 1,2,3 thing but on the homepage, all looking nice and most of all looking quick and easy. Like your mum.

Personally I would have perhaps chosen some kind of Chinese propaganda styling to boost the idea that this is not a corporate label-fest, though at the same time not wanting to step into 'Obey' territory. more of a nod/wink to communism I guess, but very tongue-in-cheek and funny.
I tihnk this would have worked well from a brand standpoint, it would have looked slightly rebellious and 'anti' with personality, whereas at the moment it looks, somewhat ironically, rather corporate and dull.

We did actually touch on the communism thing several years back when planning it, but put it down to a bad idea. I wonder if dancer will thank me mentioning that he designed the logo for us? I actually really like it still. Part of the very loose brief was that we wanted to 'own' the progress bar.
I may well take another look at the homepage and your suggestions - so thanks for taking the time.
It needs a lot of things that funds and people don't currently stretch to, but I think we've done a good job considering the overwhelming odds (and stupid amounts of data that keep me awake at night).
