Have you explained that although she may perceive something as "simpler," it doesn't affect the nature of your work & creative process?

You should let her know that she is not really paying for your time but the potential benefit the work that you created will bring to her business. If it were only based on time than your rates should go down the quicker, more efficient and knowledgeable you get.
and I'm not sure if your charging more for giving the full rights to her but if that's the case you are fully in the right to. When you create an image the final artwork is your idea and your image regardless of whether it is for a client or even using pieces from a clients previous work. When the client uses your image you have granted them the right to reproduce your "artwork" that original image is still yours (unless stated in the contract). Sometimes the client will only use the image for a year while another wants full rights they should have different prices.
If you bought an original painting you would not be able to reproduce that image without the artists permission the same goes for design work.- let her know she's paying for a logo, regardless of how much time it took to makemonospaced

http://www.kontain.com/fi#entrie…Greedy, lazy cocksucking pieces of shit -- designers are the absolute evil of the world. I hate them, hate them wildly
And the only reason we have them is because the rest of population are uneducated, and people do not learn from when they are children, that advertisers eat shit, and designers are the most heinous of all low-life animals that are ought to be killed
If you ever meet a designer -- knock him down and kick him till the sound of crunching bones. Everywhere you meet them, kill each every one of them
The more, the betterEternal suffering, terrible day of judgement, hell and destruction await those who think otherwise.

Look, it's really the old story, do you want fast, cheap or good? Cause you can only get any two. She got fast and good. Cheap doesn't factor in.

It really doesn't matter how much time it took you to create a logo. Identity design usually comes with it's own pricing structure and purchasing the rights to the work (so the client has full ownership) is not uncommon. All of this should definitely be in a written contract but since it's after the fact you'll have to just stick to your guns and if she doesn't come around you may want to seek legal advice. Would be best to avoid a legal battle though.
