had a go yesterday and picked up the basics pretty fast. Now I'm hooked.
Anyone recommend any good boards, boots for a starter and where to get em from?

yeah, get down to your local shop. they should be able to hook you up with some stuff. also with what's good and bad. etc. :-)

Yeah, try and support your local shops. The Burton website (http://www.burton.com/) is pretty excellent and goes into a fair bit of detail, so that will give you some idea. But nothing beats a knowledgeable shop assistant. Good luck!

On a personal note I don't recommend the Burton Mint (considered a starter boot). I started off using these a few years back and I found them really uncomfortable, stiff and I constantly had to tighten the laces.
ThirtyTwo are a good boot brand.
Like the posts before say, support your local stores. If your in London LCB are a good bet. Friendly staff who know their stuff because they actually board.

Pay a little extra for some good boots as they will make all the difference.
