After spending three hours last evening trying to activate fonts via FontBase...in AI and Affinity Designer...I was really exhausted.

Because it was not working I even uninstalling FontExplorer X Pro to find out it still didn't work unless I restarted my computer.

When I tried to install FontExplorer X Pro again it wouldn't open.
I ended up downloading the latest version in Free Trial.

Really frustrating to lose an evening of work, specially now with a toddler.

    Paid Apps that weren't working...WTF?!

So I'm still checking what's wrong with FontBase but I will probably end up using FontExplorer X Pro, something that I use for ages and only recently started giving me problems.

Hopefully with all updates and upgrades everything runs smoot again.

Thanks for reading and for the advice/input!

    • hey PonyBoy I'm on a MBP 2012 2,9 GHz i7 with 16B RAM and 500 SSD. The FE X Pro that was giving me issues was the 6.0.3, the version previous to the new oneoey_oey
    • and also with the new one the preview isn't working for most fonts at all :-/oey_oey
    • but when I activate a font the immediately show up in Affinity and Adobe. so that's not bad at all.oey_oey
