Hey folks.
I'm looking to create a website with a similar navigation to Bio Bak ( http://www.bio-bak.nl/ )
Does anyone have insights into how he does overall navigation so well?... it feels so smooth. He's done a google-maps style technique whereby bits of images only load once you zoom in and out..
very clever.

fucking ell, what a strange and well-done site.

maybe away3d or papervision?

it seems like he uses zoomify...but maybe not.
most of the anima is vector, so that's why it seems so smooth and has such quick download time.

its flash, he could have done it loads ways, whatever he did, your not going to find an tutorial for it. this is something that has taken a good bit of skill and plenty of time to do.
if you are stuck with as2 like me, stage listeners, start drag, and loading png's into the correct layers would be a good place to start.
i doubt it is as2 though.

Yeah I presumed it was a concoction of various ideas/components...
But I'm mainly concerned about the zoomify style effect and the preloading of images on a grid...
Maybe I should just ask biobak himself.
@mikotondria3 yes it's an amazing site!
