This is fucked up and I realize this isn't something pleasant to talk about, especially here on a design message board. To those folks: please disregard. To others, there seems there's lots of personal stuff here (naked chicks, drunken stories, etc etc), so I don't feel entirely out of line posting this topic on this site. I have to think there are some who've given this subject a fair amount of consideration.
My question is genuine, I wonder if you wonder. And if you wonder, how do you really think you'd do it? There are, of course, entire google groups etc dedicated to the topic, but wanted to post here.
So it seems like the decent thing to do would be to be able to somehow donate your organs to those in need. So any sort of poisoning, for the most part would be out, but I also dont like the idea of a super violent and bloody mess.
Most suggest what they call the "bag and band" method. You take a handful of sleeping pills. but a bag over your head with an elastic around your neck. As the sleeping pills take effect, you lose your grip on the elastic band and you suffocate. Question is, how would you still be able to salvage organs if they're hypoxemic hypoxia (in other words dead from lack of O2 as are your organs, preventing transplant). You would need to have paramedics arriving at almost the same time as you kick, tough call.
So then, in all seriousness, would you really walk into a propeller blade? Or wait for a slow death by AIDS? as suggested here? Come on, surely everyone has thought of it at one point? Your life is yours, as is your death (in this purely hypothetical scenario).

Sure, you could figure out the most efficient way to kill yourself, i.e. "bag and band," etc. Personally I'd find a good mix of drugs to get off on without puking, then die a slow druggy death. But if you're for real, then you need help. Get an appointment with a therapist who specializes in suicide, depression, etc. Consider some sort of medication, it can really help. Just give it some time dude, and do something before you make a mistake. Talk to your fam and get some support. Seriously, you worry me.
