Funny how they mention illustrator... They obviously have no understanding of the costs associated with the profession.

There are a few websites that do the same exact thing for years now, nothing new here!

There are some good submissions on there. But so many wasted hours of work. Buying into a process that undercuts other designers - what's the point? ok if you have a terminal illness and aren't planning on being in the industry for long. But then, I'm sure I could think of better things to do with my time.

Bartle, Bogle, Hegarty
- And look at the shite that's been posted already.jamble
- Jesus! I have lost SO MUCH respect for BBH!! They all took a 3.5% paycut. No wonder if they contribute to the cheapening of creativitybabaganush

Very sad.
But let the sheep mingle with the other sheep. Us wolves'll thin out the herd.

omg...are we back to this concept of crowdsourcing again?
- and also note that this business was started by a lawyer, not a designer.monkeyshine

seriously though, this all goes to show how much a "design" is really worth to people, no matter how good you are. Most of you are overpaid anyway. :)
- You can get all sorts of services this way. Doesn't 'mean' anything.ETM
- I also plan to redo my kitchen this way. 20 contractors build me a kitchen and I will pay for the one I like. :)ETM
- thats different in terms of project scale. Youre over simplifying to make an analogycannonball
- You're over-analyzing an analogy to simply make another comment.ETM

"They are working to democratize a snooty business..."
Sure it's a fuckin' snooty business. So is engineering, or medicine, or law. It's a business for professionals, do you want me building the next ford SUV frame because I thought I got a good idea while I was taking a shit at my full time design job?

That article makes my blood boil... Seriously, why are designers treated like this? Where is there stuff like this for architecture, healthcare, etc.??
This is really entertaining too though, can we continue to post awesome logos from this site? Can we just go ahead and make a crowdspring awesome logos thread!

Replace "design" with "hookers" and you got something, though.

You think designers or other creatives are overpaid? It draining and stressful as hell to always be on and be creative. Plus many don't make any more than the bloody secretary, especially when they are juniors.
- that has to do with your efficiency, not the value of your product. you're paid to produce, not rack your brain.cannonball
- huh?ETM
- Wow, I feel sorry if your work is defined only by production, and not by creative process.ETM

i like this idea.

Makes me feel sick. Poor bastards (the designers).

@brains; every industry will be like this soon. This site works by allowing the masses to participate thus allowing saturation to filter. Best idea wins in this world now and I am happy that it is moving in that direction. Unfortunately this will make us work that much harder. If you think you’re working a lot now. Imagine doing a call for entrees everyday and still not able to pay them bills.
on a side note this is great for students who need that portfolio building process. In law, you have the ambulance chaser, in medicine you have the “discount” practices and in engineering, the field is littered with failed and sometimes life taking builds.
Just my two cents ...
- you're obviously not working your ass off for a low salary, if we were paid like lawyers, i'llGeorgesII
- say nice, but this is plain stupid.GeorgesII
- every industry that involves pirated software, yes. Cracked CS4 won't win at court.jimbojones
- Your 2 cents comes with change. :)ETM

I'm still waiting for the $500 Attorney, or the Build your house for $1,500 (unlimited revisions) sites...
