Meeklo,
I get the cell phone thing, but I once read an interview with some very well known job hiring person, or career adviser, something like that, and they said "if someone shows up at an interview without a watch, I don't trust that I can depend on them. I don't trust that they can be punctual and depended on to be exactly where they need to be when they need to be."
Might be a little extreme these days, sure, but at the very least a watch is a way that a man can get extravagant with jewelery and really show off their personality in a way that people notice. It's kind of a status thing I guess.

Get something elegant and simple. The more extra things you have the more it looks you're trying to brag. Also, get one with no second hand. Higher class.

Jevad... check out the pre-owned market...
http://forums.timezone.com/index…Most hold there value pretty well if you keep them more then a few years. Within the last 3-5 years a lot of companies had price increases at the retail level, which brought the pre-owned market up. I've picked up a few that i wore for 2 years, and sold them for slightly more then i payed.. But it does depend on the watch.
But with a down economy, a lot of people are selling pieces pretty cheap, bad time to sell, good to buy!
