Singer reportedly denied U.S. visa after being charged with assault last week.

At first I thought "Layaway Plan" is some band I hadn't heard of. lol

I've seen The Liars open up for Interpol and Radiohead. How do they get such huge gigs when they suck so hard?
And what's up with the Layaway Plan?! Seriously??

its a big festival, the promoters want to make money so they throw everything and anyone there that has a following in order to pack more people, that's all it is..
if you are on the right mindset with friends, you will have a good time, even with bands you don't care about.. who knows maybe you discover something new.

I paid 30 (fuck you ticketmaster) to go see Wale at teh Key Club on thursday. Best concert of my life. Super small venue with a lot of talent.
I dont know if Coachella would be as cool since its so big. Wouldn't there just be a helluva lot of douches? I've never been but i might get free tix this year so who knows.

there are rumors that more acts will be added to the Sahara tent (possibly Orbital or Chemical Brothers or Basement Jaxx) and a bigger headliner for Saturday night.

I read an interesting article with Perry Ferrell a couple months back which pretty much summed up the state of music today.
His point was there is no quality control these days. In the current age of the internet and DIY everyone thinks they are musicians and it floods the scene with watered down music, half-assed rip offs and a sea of one offs. There are no more super acts that will be coming along that can sell out arenas on their own. those days are over.
This is totally true. More than half of the bands on that bill are just that. A mirror image of every other band.

Curious -- those of you who don't like the lineup, what artists are missing on there that you would've liked to see?

Clipse, TV on the Radio, My Bloody Valentine, A Place to Bury Strangers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Glass Candy, Gang Gang Dance, Peanut Butter Wolf, No Age, Public Enemy, Sebastian Tellier, Lykke Li, Fucked Up, Hercules and Love Affair, Mastodon..
So that's 15 on first glance that I'd pay to see.. Basically makes it worth it...

the good names in there aren't enough to weigh out the bad one

Superchunk and My Bloody Valentine!!!!!!!
I've never been, I usually like to see if some of the bands tour the west coast at the same time and see a select number at smaller venues.

This is gonna tank and they'll blame the economy.

Mexican Institute of Sound is dope, but don't need to pay 300 bucks to see them.
- ninjasavant0
Paul McCartney? Are they trying to cater to the locals?
- morilla0
Wow, that line-up is F-in horrible. They phoned it in this year.
