I was just looking into sIFR, so this post has been a good read.
Has anyone used it with wordpress? so post titles etc...

doesn't it slow things down quite a bit?

I used the NET panel on firebug on the pizza express site and it took 6.11s to load everything up, if thats the worst ill be happy to use it!
Im guessing propper developers would disagree, but it makes everything look better!!!

My view is it's a lot of fiddling around for not a lot of gain. Just use Flash to begin with if you want to embed a font on a web page!
What's the point of making all these workarounds to keep from using Flash, when you can just use Flash?

Honestly, some of these Flash work arounds are like sitting at home thinking, "Fuck. I don't want to go to the store to get milk all the time. I'll just get a cow of my own!"
Rant over. Until the next time.

I disagree. Once used, sifr is an easy and effective. I can easily handle dynamic text. Font color and size is a simple css change.
To those who said use flash. That's a very vague answer to my question. I can only imagine you want me embed a static flash file with a fixed width and link it to an xml file that i can control with coldfusion. Great idea, how is that easier! Where are my options?
Thanks for the pointless insight boobs. SuperPickle is awesome. Good question Rand, great answer FallowDeer. How about some actual help people. A link, a universal version or a sifr alternative besides just telling me flash. If you want to tell me flash, how about giving me details on how you would use it.

Have any of you ever tried Cufón? I had a buddy tell me he uses this instead of sIFR now because it's much easier. It doesn't use Flash at all. Might be worth checking out.

I can definitely recommend Cufon - extremely quick. The selecting issue I feel is less of a problem versus the benefits.
Oh, but be careful since there is some questions over the legality/licensing when using commercial fonts.

It seems like a clever solution.
I noticed QBN stopped using it a while back for some reason.

i used to use it. but it has so much more cons than pro's, imho.
