Nah... Djokovic wasn't dominating. It was pretty even and he just suddenly hit a physical and mental wall.
- Gotta be the heat. Though it’s hot for everyone.MrOneHundred

Yeah, the Djoker was playing well in the beginning. That first set was impressive from both - not a deuce point. Then Novak was out of steam from the heat. Thems the breaks.

^ Well there goes one of my finals contenders.
- emukid0
toward the end of that game, the on-court temperature was around 142 degrees F.

^ Not quite that hot, but close. Today will be even hotter they say. The hosts said they wouldn't close the roof this year, but we'll see. with two down due to heat, they might consider it.

Melbourne is going for 41 Degrees today. It's already 41 where I am, heading for 44 (111F). Last time I played tennis on a 43-degree day it was 56 degrees on the court, and the guy I was playing with had an epileptic seizure and needed CPR. I do not envy these guys one little bit.

43°C at 2.45pm and still getting warmer... glad I'm not having to work outside! :D

Play suspended, I heard.

Yeah, heat policy went into effect today. They closed the roof and made the tournament go indoors.
A set a piece and Verdasco up a break in the third. 5 setter likely - and its good tennis!

So then... all-spanish seminfinal. Then likely, Fed - Nadal in the final.

Its true, verdasco has been playing great this tournament. I was more referring to the past 5 years (save the Davis).

verdasco deserved finals
- letters20
Verdasco definitely deserves more than to be the loser of that match. Nadal had one more point them him, and we know which one it was.
- BuddhaHat0
Agreed, Verdasco did deserve to win the match, but a Nadal/Federer final is going to be pretty damn good. They're both so fit it's going to be quite close I think... I can't pick a winner...
