I feel conflicted...
On one hand, I want to help the homeless, sometimes by giving some spare change or by buying them a sandwich. But on the other hand I wish they would go out and get a job, get off the drugs, and or seek medical help. It seems to be a never ending problem negatively effecting every city and sadly seems to be growing.

Offer to let the woman have a bath at your house, buy her some slutty clothes and pimp her out.
There's always a way to turn a bad situation around.

@sprnitch: it's cool, i didn't think you were, and totally understand what you're saying. i'm not giving money because i'm told it's "the right thing to do". some of my family members are doctors who have worked in poor areas and have seen first hand a lot of the shit homeless people are going through. knowing just a fraction of the stories they've told me makes me want to help out.

I guess you are the better man/woman
I'm just the cynical bastard

*picture of american flag waving in the wind. big white letters on the flag spell out the most murderous phrase since the dawn of mankind, encompassing the very principle of american national idea:
"It is your problem"
- once or twice US international intervention was helpful, but for the most part, it's poisonous.armsbottomer
- i take it your statement was directed more towards US international policies, than just helping out the homeless.armsbottomer
- im talking about all of us, children of this civilization, monsters of indifference which it createsdrgss

So anyways, what help is actually there for them?

Sad to see some people don't give shit either way and or have no compassion in their heart for their fellow man regardless of the circumstances or how they became homeless or remain homeless in the first place.
God Bless America!

many of us are about 2 pay checks away from being homeless ourselves. just saying...

I think people dislike seeing the homeless because its a peak of what might be in store for them if things take a turn for the worse in their own life...
- drgss0
the man who doesn't work is doomed to economic death -- "regardless of the circumstances or how they became homeless or remain homeless in the first place"
embrace the world you created, its all yours

it is easy to be altruistic when it is a topic of discussion but when you see it day after day after day, it get old

this guy, epete is a fucking idiot.
he says that "there is help out there for these people" but then in another thread will say there should be no government hand outs.
Your entire worldview is a contradiction. i wish homelessness on you.

Seriously? No one able to answer what help is available?

i live on the 2nd floor of a 4floor tenament
a couple of years ago we had a junkie make a home in the basement of the tenament.
he would buzz peoples buzzers and get in eventually, folk just assuming its a neighbour or a "wrong buzzer ring".
after a while the stairwell started to stink of his piss and general body odour and he had a wee camping stove to cook his smack on.one day while he was away me and neighbours went down (with rubber gloves on lol) and just grabbed all his worldly posessions and threw them in the bins outside. and one of the wifeys disinfected the whole area.
after that the guy didnt return.if you want to get rid without rounding up a posse to kick the shit outta them then you just need to make it obvious that they arent welcome or make it uncomfortable for them to live there i.e soak the doorway in water n bleach each night so they cant sleep there.
simple but effective
