That's the silliest thing I've ever heard.

Swap out the fixed cog for a free-wheel and run a rear brake.

i think the pista's rear hub is fixed/fixed. that would mean that you'd need to get a fixed/free flipflop hub to switch it from fixie to freewheel. then its just a matter of flipping the rear wheel, putting back in place, and your set. keep in mind that there isn't a drilled hole in the back for rear brake though, it's intended to be ridden as fixie.

thanks! i didnt expect a serious answer

can I ask why you'd go to the bother of changing a fixed wheel bike when you can just buy a free straight off the bat?

get some brakes hipsters!
- auejim0
cause i like that bike, is there a single speed version?

Why a Pista? You could spend a buck fifty more and get a Lemond Fillmore. It has a flip flop hub so if you ever did decide to ride fixed it would be a snap.

Good call. All the fashion victims are lining up at the orthopaedics with knee problems, from riding fixies.

Haha ^ I was thinking that, I remember seeing one of those Vicemag heroin chic cool photographers had done a series on these dirty hipsters who hold jousting events and shit on bikes like that riding over dirty mattresses and stuff, presumably before shooting up and having sex on them. Bikes and all :-d

what armsbottomer said - get a flipflop hub and mount a bmx freewheel
