better to know? aftereffects/cinema4d or Flash/actionscript??

A buddy of mine and I are debating on which is more useful in today's market. I say knowing Motion Graphics is better than Flash, what do you think?

Flash + AS with understanding of video (AE / Final Cut / FLV)

depends on what you want to do, how much time you want to invest in learning and how much money you wanna make.
3d and video effects take longer to learn and master but pay better, however finding gigs is more difficult.
flash and actionscript2.0 can be learned and mastered in a few weeks of dedicated study, it's easier to find jobs but you don't get paid as much as real animation/editing.

for me its After Effects all the way .... sometimes I will use flash but not a lot

more jobs in flash. but flash with video skills is a plus as the boundaries between the two are becoming increasingly blurred.

Aren't flash developers becoming more and more common nowadays....at least more so than Motion Designers? Today's Commercials are pretty much all using Aftereffects.

Nope. There are tons of motion designers also but hard to find someone who can utilize video / motion with flash.

Flash. Companies are pulling their money out of broadcast/print and into online.

something to consider:
Those same AE skills you use for motion graphics can find you another world of opportunities in TV/Film. compositing, rotoscoping, motion tracking, etc.
