i actually worked on WhiteHouse.gov for about 8 months on a contract job... the design was absolute crap... i was mainly involved in managing the live discussions on WH.gov... this was back in like 2005?

the section titles are too close to the big blue feature box. what a weird grid

^^^ i don't mind it; grid seems fine to me. seems like it was intentional in an effort to keep as much above the fold as possible.
