I, for one, feel an odd feeling of sadness today.
tDR has certainly influenced me greatly as a designer since the '80s, and I guess I never saw this day coming.
It'll be interesting to see what comes from this.

“It does feel like the end of an era but really it stopped being DR two or three years ago. DR will go forward after this with me [under the same name] - whether it will be with a new team and a new office I don’t know.”

I like how he uses "DR" - keeps it true to the theme of this thread:)

I loved their work especially the designs for WipeOut. It kind of feels like a favourite band (who's earlier albums you treasure but haven't listened to in a while) have just split up.
It is a shame.

sad, but life goes on....

What happens to TDR now, happens a lot.
A boom in the studio creativity lead by Michael C. Place, Matt Pyke and others. They leave, the places are not filled up properly and
due to bad planning and accidents the studio loses quality,
respect and clients.A shame, but i'm sure Ian will re-invent himself.
- No disrespect to the people who work there now, but that generation was gold.tank02

Every very profilic studio at one time jumps the shark, its falls under the early adapters logic.
