I'm thinking of quitting my job.....going cold turkey! I have no new job to go to, I have a mortgage....but I just can't go on with my current job, it's draining me....it's sucking all the passion out of me.
So, anyone got something for me to do? I'm based south of Sydney in Australia, and i have 11 years prepress/print design experience with a bit of marketing to top it off.
Man, this is kinda scary with my commitments but I'm pretty excited too!

regarding oz, did anyone heard of anyone being fired recently? I wonder how does it look at the moment, I'm full-time here in sydney and from what I know they are doing the opposite where I work

Take a holiday before you quit.
Seriously.... it gives you time to clear your head and discuss with mates/partner/family.
Be preped for the worst.... but use that damn holiday up...
- I had 16 vacation days from my last job that I did not get paid for:(********
- Yeah, I have about 6 weeks owing to me, so yeah, I think I'll take them and start looking, if it looks bleak then I'll just turn up for work after that. Oh, I might start taking some sick leave first, they owe me heaps, I've been a damn good employee! lol :DBrainiac
- most companies in Oz are forcing employees to use up their leave just in case recession hits. I agree, use it :)toe_knee
- in the uk you are only eligible to take what you have worked. i.e for every month worked you get 2.25 days hol. you go over thatDancer
- ...you have to pay it back.Dancer

Don't quit.
I was so fed up last year so I quit my job, without any other job on the go.... After 1year of search I finally took a job not so creative (to say the truth not creative at all) and paid 1000euros less per month simply cause I couldn't keep renting my flat or paying food cause I had'nt got any single cent in my pocket.Whish you good luck.
*shameless self promotion*
-BTW if any of you look or know someone looking for a middleweight designer, drop me a line-
