Had a Martin and it ruled. This Taylor baby should be even awesomer. Enough to make anybody orgasm within 2 minutes into the first song.
- Srsly. You wouldn't even finish the song. Maybe ever. Prepare some Kleenex just in caseVectorMasked

What are anyones thoughts on buying a used one?
To me it makes sense. They are so nice that surely it's been babied to hell and back. Also, the one I'm lookin at is 10 years old, so the wood is settled, and its been played thru it's "breaking in" phase. Am I totally off in thinking this? Its what I've thought forever....for-ev-er....fooooorr... (thats a sandlot reference).

That is unless they don't make specific models anymore. But if it is in great shape, the neck is fine and the wood looks great you should get it.

play it first - i wouldn't buy any guitar w/o getting a sense of how it feels.

sometimes, i feel, if you have a really shitty guitar you'll really how to SLAY

Speaking of near guits, I just ordered this one today. I have wanted this guitar since I was 13.

- the thing is a beast. Best Custom I have played.morilla
- The custom is the only gibson guitar I can play. still a lil uncomfortable since I'm a fender dude. Nice choice.VectorMasked

I built Taylors for two years. They are top-quality guitars made by people who really love the instrument. A great company to work for too. Unfortunately, if you work there, you can't afford to buy one...

i play a gibson lp standard gold-top most of the time. i too had wanted one since i was a kid, i love that guitar. i have put it through its paces though - it's a damn good road guitar.

I'm supposed to check it out tomorrow, give it a good playin'. Here is the craigslist link. The guitar has a cosmetic ding on the body that is repairable, and apparently does not affect sound quality. I figure the price is pretty solid for this high end of a Taylor, but maybe I'm getting a little drunk on the thought of just owning one?

good price, considering I saw this

make sure that gash is only clear coat damage only. If it isn't it is gonna cost some $$$ to repair if you want to.

Looks like it could be a decent seller.
I guess everything will depend on how it sounds once you test it and on the damage. Any significant repair for a guitar over 1000 bucks can hurt the wallet a lil.
- whoa...they go for about 3k NEW, that guy has some high hopes.ifeltdave

well thanks for all the input everyone. I'll let you know how it sounds! And maybe post some high rez pics tomorrow afternoon if all goes well :)
