Out of all songs to cover, why this?

the original song is awful
the gypsy kings cover and the way it's used in big lebowski make it palatable, but still not great.
at least the gypsy kings are hispanic, and therefore lend some credibility to the song
- and for the record the gypsy kings are a much better band than the fucking eagles7point34
